James Burrows, the prolific director who reigned as television’s preeminent sitcom helmer for more than 30 years, died on Friday. He was 85.
Burrows’ family confirmed his death in a statement to People: “We celebrate the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of James ‘Jimmy’ Burrows, who passed away peacefully today surrounded by his loving family.
