Please find a selection of images from the read-through of new ITV drama, Winter, starring Richard Armitage and Annabel Scholey which was held yesterday in London (Thursday 8 January).
Winter follows unconventional forensic pathologist Dr Ethan Winter (Richard Armitage), a brilliant, rule‑breaking mind whose razor‑sharp deductions help the police crack some of the toughest murder cases. Winter’s unorthodox methods perfectly complement meticulous, no‑nonsense DI Lauren Bell (Annabel Scholey). Together, they form a formidable partnership — his insight into victims and crime scenes proving invaluable to Bell and her team.
Each of the six episodes delivers a gripping, self‑contained case, while a deeper, more personal mystery surrounding Winter threads through the entire series.
Produced by Eagle Eye Drama in co‑production with MASTERPIECE, the series films in Bristol and Belgium from early February. Adapted by David Allison and Mark Greig, Winter is directed by Dries Vos and Kaat Beels, with Matt Baker producing and Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino executive producing for Eagle Eye Drama.
The series will air on ITV and STV, and stream on ITVX and STV Player, with PBS MASTERPIECE broadcasting in the US. Supported by the Belgian Tax Shelter, ITV Studios handles international distribution.
Winter is based on the French hit Balthazar, created by Clothilde Jamin and Clélia Constantine.
