Ben Fogle’s Personal Odyssey Across Canada
5 has commissioned Ben Fogle’s Canadian Journey (w/t), a brand-new four-part series from Honey Bee and WPP Media Motion Entertainment, following the much-loved adventurer as he returns to the country that first sparked his love of the great outdoors.
In this new series, Ben Fogle embarks on a deeply personal odyssey across Canada, one of the last great wildernesses on Earth and also the land of his own father. Canada is the country that forged Ben’s love of adventure.
Growing up in busy London, every summer his parents took him to Ontario, to his grandfather’s cabin beside a lake, where forests, mountains and wide skies ignited the adventurer within. Returning to Canada also brings Ben back for some time with his Canadian father, Bruce, as together they revisit the places and memories that helped shape Ben’s childhood and his lifelong connection to the country. It was here, under those immense horizons, that his worldview was shaped. Now he returns to ask a deeper question: who has he become since, and how does Canada continue to inspire his future?
As Ben travels through the country to remarkable places even he has never seen, he also uncovers the British historical echoes that still resonate here; deep-rooted connections embedded in landscapes and communities shaped by migration and memory.

As a boy growing up in London, I spent my summers at my grandfather’s cabin beside a lake in Ontario, and that’s where I first fell in love with the wild. The forests, the mountains, those huge skies – it’s where the adventurer in me was born. Going back with Dad by my side, to revisit the places that shaped me, has been one of the most personal and emotional journeys I’ve ever made. It’s a vast, breathtaking country full of extraordinary people and stories, and I can’t wait to share it with viewers on 5.”

Ben Fogle’s Canadian Journey (w/t) is co-produced by Honey Bee and Motion Entertainment. The series was ordered by Guy Davies, Consultant Editor for Commissioning, 5. Ed Taylor and Ros Edwards are Executive Producers for Honey Bee, Melanie Darlaston is Executive Producer for Motion Entertainment and Anabel Fairclough serves as Producer. The series is directed by Ben Duncan.
The series was filmed in Canada this year, and a TX date will be announced in due course.
