FDA Supports British Screenwriters through The Brit List 2026
The Film Distributors’ Association (FDA) continues its support of upcoming British screenwriters as associate sponsor of The Brit List 2026, alongside headline sponsor Disney+ and co-sponsor Audible.
The Brit List is a not-for-profit organisation that supports and showcases writing talent in the UK film and television sectors. Eagerly awaited each November by the screen industries, the list of top-tier scripts is arrived at through recommendations from more than 300 UK and US film producers, financiers, sales agents and writers’ agents nominating their favourite, unproduced scripts from the last 12 months.
Notable features from previous year’s lists that went onto critical acclaim and good box office include period comedy drama The Favourite; high concept sci-fi actioners Attack the Block and The Girl with All the Gifts; historical dramas The Danish Girl, The King’s Speech and Selma; autobiographical drama Lion; and comedies The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Paddington. The Brit List 2026 will be announced on 16 November
The Brit List’s Executive Director, Alexandra Arlango said:
‘I would like to thank all our sponsors who have partnered with The Brit List 2026 and its mission to support British screenwriters. I’ve run The Brit List for 19 years and seen it grow from nothing to become an internationally recognised industry resource that helps shape the careers of so many great writers.’
Established in 2007, The Brit List has helped develop more than 80 British scripts, collectively winning 30 major awards and going on to earn more than $2bn at the International box office. More information on The Brit List can be found on their website.
