Mistura – Exclusive Release in Cinemas from 16th Oct
Exposure in association with Unannounced Films and Seine Pictures presents: MISTURA, the highest-grossing and most-attended Peruvian drama of the year.
A poignant period drama set in vibrant 1965 Lima, Peru, following Norma Piet, a French-Peruvian woman raised in the sheltered world of Lima’s elite society who transforms betrayal, loss and exclusion into a bold journey of reinvention. Exiled from the only world she has ever known after her husband abandons her, she leans on and learns to collaborate with people from the very communities she was raised to undervalue — and, in doing so, embarks on a journey that leads her to discover her own true identity and the heart of Peru through its extraordinary culinary traditions.

Written and directed by Ricardo de Montreuil (My Brother’s Wife, Máncora, Lowriders), Mistura recently enjoyed an 8-month theatrical rollout across North America reaching 31 cities throughout 2026. The film will now arrive in the UK with a limited theatrical release in selected UK cinemas from 16th October 2026.
Mistura was first released in its native Peru by leading regional distributor Cinecolor, achieving a 10-week theatrical run with over 130,000 admissions, and ending its run as the highest grossing and most-attended Peruvian drama of 2025. The film currently holds a 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Bárbara Mori (Women in Blue) delivers an award-winning performance in the lead role, alongside Peruvian actor and musician Christian Meier and Peruvian percussionist César Ballumbrosio, in his award-winning feature debut. The ensemble cast also includes established Peruvian actors such as Vanessa Saba, Hermelinda Luján and Marco Zunino, as well as chef Tomás Matsufuji (previously featured in Netflix’s Streetfood in Latin America) in his acting debut.
Blending personal drama with a vivid portrait of Peru’s culture and gastronomy, Mistura explores the themes of belonging, cultural identity and the unexpected ways in which food can connect people and communities. “Mistura is a film about reinvention. In 1960s Lima, a woman loses everything – and, through a culinary journey, finds a wider Peru beyond the world that cast her out.”, said director Ricardo de Montrueil, whose previous work includes Universal Studios & Imagine Entertainment’s Lowriders and Sundance Official Selection Máncora.
