Popcorn Jedi: An Introduction

Pj Og

Popcorn Jedi, the culmination of 4 years to-ing and fro-ing with various formats, themes, sections, massive posts counts, pruning post counts to finally arrive where I want to be with the site.

A History, of sorts:

Back in 2022, everything began with Cinema, TV & Streaming News, while I also tried running a separate Star Wars site (The Star Wars Archive… or Holonet News… or The Holocron… or whatever I was calling it that week).  When I moved everything to WordPress.com — mainly because I like the freedom of the Business Plan, not because I’m an actual business — I decided to merge the two sites into one. Thus Cine/Wars was born, in 2023, combining all my favourite things under one roof.

It worked… for a while, coupla years in fact, if I remember correctly. Then came the complaints. Apparently I “shouldn’t favour one franchise over another” and I received a steady stream of “advice” on how to run a successful blog. So I changed the name again, this time to It’s All Entertainment, (2025) because honestly… it is all entertainment.

Still the advice continued. So I split the sites again and created It’s All Star Wars (In very late 2025). Trouble is, I’m not made of money, and I make absolutely nothing from ads or donations. Nobody asked me to make these sites, so the responsibility — and the cost — is entirely mine.

And this is where my impetuousness really kicked in.

Obsessing over what to do (did I mention I’m on the spectrum?), I came up with one final name change that would bring everything back together. So early in April I registered cineversecentral.com and cineversecentral.blog (2026) — they were on an offer — with the intention of doing one last big makeover.

Then I searched the name. And discovered there’s already a popular Instagram pop‑culture source called Cineverse Central… and a larger entertainment streaming company called Cineverse.

So now I’m wondering: Do I risk annoying them? Will I get cease‑and‑desists? Do I have the energy for that hassle? Probably not.

Either way, by January 2027 I was under the deadline of merging It’s All Entertainment and It’s All Star Wars, because I can’t afford two Business Plans. The Star Wars plan would run out by then so I needed to move by then.

In the end I didn’t go ahead with CineVerse Central and I didn’t revert back to Cine/Wars!

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The Decision

The winner was It’s ALL Entertainment (with emphasis on ALL) Tagline: Film, Streaming, Star Wars, TV & Everything in Between

Now I just had to merge everything again. That could have taken anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

Mind you, decisions can be made and then discarded in a second when a simpler idea appears.

Enter: It’s All Entertainment+

Like Paramount+ and Disney+, but without the subscription fee. The “+” lets me bring Star Wars into this site while keeping it future‑proof if I ever want to add more franchises.

So… I welcomed It’s All Entertainment+…

But in a New York Minute

Popcorn Jedi sprung up in the swirling mass of my brain (originally it was Popcorn & Padawans but I felt that gave off too much of a made for kids vibe) and it took root and poor old It’s Entertainment+ disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. By this point I had had a particularly lousy couple of weeks of server issues, backups, and plugin disappointments, So took a few weeks off to merge & streamline the sites, reducing 20,000 posted articles, to 9,000, eventually whittled down to 3000+ (some not by choice, which is why I will eventually bring back the YouTube Channels that were, accidently, deleted).

Popcorn Jedi launched, officially, on May 22nd, 2026 but that was not the end of the issues, oh no, with all the chopping and changing my site had gone through over the years it had amassed quite a lot of unused media etc and my attempt to rectify that was a disaster!!! I tried to be a clever shite and add modifications and fixes myself BUT that’s pretty much created more problems than it solved.

I mean I was trying all kinds different looks for the site, using cheeky little css codes and clever commands etc. trying to wow my visitors. BUT boy oh boy, you SHOULD have seen my face, when I thought, well, not thought, actually DID wipe two months of media from the server!

So I decided to KEEP it simple. I took the decision to close down (again) for a while on July 24th, 2026 to tidy up this crazy mess and decide what to do going forward.  I hadn’t planned on the closure being TOO long. The decision had been made, I decided I AM a glutton for punishment and WOULD go through the site, more methodically this time, to clean out the trash. As it stood, there were no sections or posts that would go further back than January 1st, 2026 so of the 3,000+ posts that were left I brought them all into 2026, the birth year of Popcorn Jedi

I relaunched on Friday August 14th, 2026 and getting bang up to date, I’d done what I needed to do and would continue working in the background to do what is still to do, while continuing on my daily jaunts around the internets, posting anything I find interesting.

So, welcome to Popcorn Jedi — your cosy corner of the internet where films get judged harder than a Jedi Council meeting, TV gets dissected like a Sith conspiracy, streaming gets sorted faster than a droid army, and Star Wars gets the kind of obsessive attention that would make Yoda quietly concerned. Whether you’re here to read, rant, or procrastinate like a champion, you’ve found your people.

There’s 🍿 Cinema, Streaming, News, Galleries and of course,  Star Wars

Your hyperspace lane into the galaxy of cinema, shows you binge at 2AM and then emotionally regret, must‑watch picks across the streaming universe.

Entertainment news & reviews from sources that actually know what they’re doing — curated for clarity, speed.

There’s Star Wars Lore, books, art, archives, and a loving nitpick the galaxy far, far away like it’s a competitive sport. If it’s Star Wars, it’s here.

PopcornpiecesAnd in the interest of TOTAL transparency, Popcorn Jedi survives on movies, tv, streaming, star wars, caffeine, and — occasionally — an AI copilot who plays the Chewie role. It doesn’t roar, but it does help keep the ship steady and does make supportive noises while I do the actual real work.

Popcorn Facts 1Features such as the posts excerpts on the main page, post tags, Popcorn Pieces summaries, Popcorn Facts summaries and some very limited  imagery are generated with a bit of AI assistance BUT the curation, the editing, the typing, the image hunting, the plugin wrangling, and the general chaos management, the “why is WordPress doing that” moments and Jedi‑level faffing — is still handled by a real human movie nerd!
