Roger Deakins and James Ellis Deakins on Fargo and their working relationship
Oscar-winning cinematographer Roger Deakins and his long-time collaborative partner James Ellis Deakins visit BFI Southbank to talk about their working relationship ahead of a screening of the Coen brothers film Fargo.
Joel and Ethan Coen’s celebrated, Oscar-winning black comedy follows Jerry Lundegaard, a financially desperate car salesman in rural Minnesota, who hires two bumbling criminals to kidnap his wife and extort ransom from her wealthy father. When the plan spirals violently out of control, the case lands with Marge Gunderson, the local town’s sharp, unflappable and very pregnant police chief.
