Why Darth Vitate was the ONLY Sith Plagueis Respected
Darth Plagueis had little respect for the ancient Sith, but Darth Vitiate stood apart. In Star Wars Legends, Plagueis viewed Vitiate as perhaps the closest of the ancient Sith Lords to achieving true immortality through the Force, having prolonged his existence across more than a thousand years and transcended the limitations of a single mortal body. To Plagueis, Vitiate represented the greatest achievement of the ancient Sith in their war against death but even he had ultimately failed. Vitiate’s obsession with worldly power and imperfect forms of eternal existence fell short of the true, unrestricted immortality Plagueis sought, giving the arrogant Sith Lord yet another reason to criticize even the greatest of his predecessors.
