Why the Jedi Trusted Jango Fett’s Clones

by

TSWWhy did the Jedi trust the clone army when Jango Fett, the template for every clone trooper, was also working directly with Count Dooku and the Separatists? In this Star Wars Legends breakdown, we explore why Jango Fett should have been a massive red flag, how the sudden outbreak of the Clone Wars forced the Jedi to react instead of investigate, what Sifo-Dyas and Tyranus had to do with the creation of the Grand Army of the Republic, and how later Legends stories like Labyrinth of Evil reveal what Yoda, Obi-Wan, and the Jedi Council actually believed about Jango’s connection to both sides of the war.

Ask the Lucasfilm Jedi Council

Q: What kinds of skills and talents does it take to be a conceptual artist?

A: Doug Chiang
– Conceptual designers need to be good artists. Our job is communication through art. The backgrounds of each artist in the art department are often as varied as our skills. Some are wonderful creature creators, like Terryl Whitlatch, and others like Iain McCaig excel at costumes. But the common link that binds us all is the ability to draw well.

In addition, concept designers need to be world builders. We need to be architects, vehicle designers, costume and creature designers, all in one. Good designers have the ability to see the uncommon in common objects.
