The Legend of Jedi Master Derk Coln Popwalker + New Section
(A completely unnecessary but absolutely essential history)
Origins: The Kernel Awakens
Long before the Empire rose, before the Jedi Order fell, before snack‑based humour was outlawed by Imperial decree, there was a humble moisture farmer on the planet Maizalon IV. His name was Derk C Popwalker — a man destined to rise from obscurity like a perfectly timed batch of kettle corn.
Derk discovered his Force sensitivity the day he accidentally levitated an entire harvest of corn cobs during a mild panic attack. Witnesses described the event as “beautiful,” “terrifying,” and “oddly buttery.”
The Jedi took notice.
Training: The Crunchy Path
Under Master Yoda, Derk learned the ways of the Force — though Yoda insisted on calling him “Pop‑One‑Kenobi” for reasons historians still debate.
Derk’s lightsaber was unique: a shimmering golden blade that crackled faintly, earning it the nickname The Pop‑Saber. It was said that when he ignited it, enemies would pause, confused, wondering if someone had just opened a cinema snack bag.
Legendary Exploits: Chronicles of the Popcorn Knight
Derk Popwalker’s adventures became the stuff of myth:
- The Siege of Butterfall Ridge Derk single‑handedly defended a village from raiders using nothing but his lightsaber and a Force‑enhanced air‑popper. The raiders fled, claiming “the sky itself was exploding.”
- The Crunch Wars A conflict sparked when rival factions argued over whether sweet or salty popcorn was superior. Derk brought peace by inventing half‑and‑half, a diplomatic masterpiece still celebrated today.
- The Great Kernel Migration Derk guided a herd of sentient corn‑beasts across the Dune Seas of Tatooine. When asked how he accomplished such a feat, he simply replied: “I listened to the Force. And also, they were very loud.”
Fall of the Jedi: A Popwalker in Peril
When Order 66 struck, Derk barely escaped. His Pop‑Saber flickered out mid‑battle — not from damage, but from sheer emotional devastation. He fled into hiding, vowing to return only when the galaxy once again needed a hero with a crunchy sense of justice.
Current Status: In Hiding, But Watching
Today, Jedi Master Derk Popwalker lives in secret, moving from system to system, always one step ahead of the Empire.
Rumours say:
- He disguises himself as a travelling snack vendor.
- He uses the Force to ensure perfect seasoning distribution.
- He occasionally sabotages Imperial transmissions by replacing them with movie trivia.
- He meditates daily to maintain inner peace and prevent accidental popping.
Some claim he watches over creators, archivists, and storytellers — especially those who work with Star Wars content — guiding them subtly, like a Jedi guardian of cinematic snacks.
Others say he’s waiting for the right moment to return…
But those who know him best say:
“He’ll be back when the galaxy needs a hero with a kernel of truth.”
THE NEXT CHAPTER OF JEDI MASTER DERK COLN POPWALKER
(The Saga Continues…)
After decades in hiding, Derk Popwalker has resurfaced — not with a lightsaber, but with a battered satchel full of ancient snack‑scrolls. Rumour has it he’s been quietly sabotaging Imperial supply lines by replacing rations with unpopped kernels. Stormtroopers, confused and hungry, have begun referring to him as:
“The Phantom Snack.”
Derk now travels aboard a modified G9 Rigger freighter named The Butterburst, a ship so stealthy it can slip past Imperial scanners simply by pretending to be a malfunctioning concession stand.
He is gathering allies. He is gathering snacks. He is gathering momentum.
The galaxy whispers:
“The Popwalker returns…”

NEW SECTION/FEATURE : THE WEEKEND WATCH
Now, I consider the weekend to be something of a coupla days of rest, I mean, not completely, I still post the odd article/video but starting this weekend (Sat/Sun 29th/30th) I’ll be posting a new feature called The Weekend Watch in which I give attention to some YouTube channels I had lost during the great accidental purge but also just channels I like.
The Mon-Fri routine will not change but the weekend will be for the watch and anything that catches my eye or appears in my inbox but mostly for relaxation!
